My friends and I decided to take a road trip to Los Angeles, CA for 3 nights.

Day 1

We left the house at 4 AM and grabbed breakfast. After a six hour drive, we finally arrived at Los Angeles! First stop was Lemonade on Ventura Blvd for lunch.

IMG_1518Our original plan for the day was to go to Bronson Canyon hike and take picture with the Hollywood sign, but we were all pretty exhausted. So we didn’t do much.

Day 2

Second day in the city of angels! We decided to explore the city of Santa Monica for this day. Our first destination was Urth Caffe, which is definitely worth the hype.

After lunch, we stopped by Buffalo Exchange for some shopping! Best thrift store ever. I found a very soft black t-shirt dress.
But we couldn’t stop after one store. We headed over to 3rd Street Promenade for some more shopping!

It was a bit different than your  traditional Japanese ramen. For this particular dish, you dipped the noodles into the broth then eat it. Kind of like soba noodles.IMG_1568

Day 3

We visited the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). It was awesome!

Day 4

Our trip was almost ending. We packed up our things and left to the Grove for more shopping and our last meal at the Short Order. What a bittersweet ending!

For me, this LA trip was a huge success! We were able to visit, eat and see things we wanted to do, yet we had our spontaneous moments. I also couldn’t have asked for a better group of friends to go travel with. Red bull heart attack, middle-of-the-night-screaming, late night card games, etc… This trip was definitely the highlight of my summer of 2014!

Slowly Turning Into a Foodie

Wow! It’s been so long since my last update on my blog… I was so “busy.” Haha, who am I kidding, I really wasn’t. My life is still average, except for the fact that I got a job! It’s only temporary, but who knows where this path will lead me. Since I couldn’t take any pictures from my daily life, here are some foodie pictures. The green tea cake from Paris Baguette is so delicious with its layers of whipped cream. For a more healthier option, I’ve been LOVING (no exaggeration here) the date sweetened apple pie oatmeal recipe from the Minimalist Baker. After trying this recipe out, I can no longer go back to the plain old oatmeal and banana. My life seriously revolves around food.

Tomorrow is my first day of summer school! I’m actually excited to be doing something productive with my life. It’ll be my first college lecture class, which makes me nervous. Wish me luck!

Fig-tastic

Finally tried out these organic black figs for the first time! They were truly fantastic… or should I say “figtastic.” With smooth texture, this fruit is very sweet and succulent! Figs are so healthy for your body which you can read all about it here. When you are eating it, you can experience that famous fig fragrance sold in many candles and lotions. Two of my favorite fig candles are from Anthropology and Crate and Barrel. It’s like heaven in a candle!

Step 4: FEASTING TIME.

We ate at the LB Steakhouse. What I got/recommend: New York Prime Steak with LB Steak Sauce and a side of creamed spinach. The steak was breathtaking, while the service was below average.IMG_0220 IMG_0227

Step 5: Come back home, remove make-up, and zzz.

Detoxing Day

Disclaimer: Somehow I only took pictures of digestible objects today.

Yesterday, I put four slices of lemon and four slices of cucumber in a big tub of water. My sister told me this was a very good detox water, so I tried it. It tastes pretty darn good! I drank this detox water while working out and felt like I was a health-freak (which I’m slowly turning into).  With the left over lemons and cucumber slices, I made these greek yogurt “pickles” (recipe here). I only used 0% fat greek yogurt, lemon juice, and diced cucumbers. Then I left it in the refrigerator for an hour to develop its true flavor. The sauce topped off my quinoa patty, which I really enjoy making/eating.

I don’t know what to do with my life anymore, besides making food and eating them.
